I am already feeling NaBloPoMo fatigue and can’t think of anything to post except for some random thoughts and musings about my day:
Today I had a fine lunch at Fu Man’s Dumpling House with Karen Anderson and Jim Benson – two friends that I have met recently in my forays into writing and social media. I originally wanted to pick Karen’s brain (since she’s a seasoned freelance writer extraordinaire) but our conversation gravitated to food, life and relationships – my favorite topics in the whole world. I love listening to people talk and am a huge sucker for a story. And the lunch wasn’t entirely unproductive, Karen paid me a nice complement and gave me some good advice about my writing style, which I am definitely taking to heart. Jim ordered the cold pork jelly. Lol.
BlogHer Conference 2009 has been scheduled for July 23-25th and will be located in Chicago. The theme is “In Real Life.” I am totally going to this. I have always wanted to go to Chicago and now it’s my big excuse to go see this city, eat good food, go shopping and hopefully see OOOOPPPPRRRAAAHHH!!!! And this could be the first leg of the Great American Road Trip I have always fancied taking. Hmmmm …
I got my TMobile G1 phone and all my iPhone buddies are laughing at me saying stuff like, “Welcome to the 21st Century.” I am thinking about starting a nontechnical Android blog – for the rest of us.
I am doing a cleanse which entails no wheat, no added sugar and no dairy products. My high blood pressure needs to be managed and I think this might just be a good starting point. Let the carb cravings begin!
Okay, let me leave you with a song that keeps running through my head. I have a theory that if you pass along the song to someone else, it can no longer make you want to gouge out your eyes and burn your ears. Don’t judge, there is no significance to this song in my life except for the fact that this is on my top 10 list of favorite videos ever created. EVER.
I’m having the same problem with NaBloPoMo. The funny thing is, I never have a problem posting, but now that I’m kind of obligated to post, my brain stops. I also feel like I have to write these amazing blog entries, but the creative juices won’t come. So, I’m stuck writing, “Hi, I don’t know what to write. Blahblahblah.” lol.
I also believe that since joining NaBloPoMo this year, I’m come in contact with a lot of other fantastic bloggers (like you!), and it is kind of intimidating to write anything. Instead, I want to NOT post, just read everyone’s posts, and wish I could blog better. lol.
Oh my God. This is so terribly haunting for all the wrong reasons. However it has provided me with today’s goal, which will be to approach someone, invade their personal space entirely, and croon ”HELLO” with the same sense of desperate urgency.
Just to see what happens. Oh, Lionel Richie. Why didn’t anyone stop you?
WOW. “Hello” goes through my head ALL THE TIME. So does “Sister Christian.” (Sorry if that one gets stuck with you!
I also have high blood pressure, so I feel your pain. Good luck with your cleanse! Make high-fiber and potassium-rich foods your friends. They’ll fill you up. Fortunately, there are some good alternatives out there with low-sodium for folks like us.
Yeah, NaBloPoMo started stressing me out yesterday, so I did a pet-peeve list, even though I was in a great mood. Figured it was more interesting for folks to read than “Today I took Dean to the park, then we read every book we own…again.”
So funny you posted that song. On a similar note, we were just listening to the following song at work and placing bets for how long they could sing “hello” over and over again at the beginning.
I have a strict “No Blogging on the Weekends” Policy, so I can’t partake in NaBlaMoPo. I commend all you hardcore folk who DO partipate though! Wow BlogHer seems so elite to me, though I must say I do want to go.
Hmm… Chicago. I guess that means I won’t be going. I hate to fly and while I’ve never been to Chicago, it’s not exactly on my list of places to see before I die.
hey giyen, I cannot remember if I have told you how much you and your blog rock. I admire you and all who can do Nablopomo. I am much too undisciplined to even attempt such an undertaking.
I too want to attend BlogHer in Chicago. I went to the one in DC last month and it rocked my world utterly.
also – I have done those kinds of cleanses and once you get past the horrendous first few days of cravings you feel SO awesome. drink shitloads of herbal tea.
Good luck de-carbing! Once I get through the first week I stop craving carbs. As long as I don’t eat them I’m fine and feel great. Why does it have to be so hard?
In the interest of full disclosure, please note that product links redirecting you to other sites such as Amazon, BlueHost, Freshbooks and OpenSky may take you a purchase page of a company where I am a member of an affiliate program. As a result, I will often get a small percentage of the revenue or a commission off of something you have purchased. I am not otherwise paid to link to these sites, nor do I link to any products that I don't actually use or covet in real life. On the rare occasion I accept payment to review a product, it will be duly noted in its associated post.
Have no fear - you are under no obligation to buy anything to get the full enjoyment of this site. We can still be friends even if you never click on an affiliate link. Rest assured, this is all low pressure. I will never show up at your door with tiny vials of Avon perfume or trial jars of pearl cream to entice you. That said, I do truly appreciate when you do purchase something from a linked site - it all helps to keep the lights on and a roof over our heads.
