Some people look at pictures of naked men and women.
I look at pictures of food.
Now that the first round of holidays are over and I have totally stuffed myself silly, it’s time to hunker down again and watch what I eat and exercise. Honestly, I have been feeling quite terrible these past few weeks even though I have made progress in changing bad habits. I definitely know it’s related to my high blood pressure and my body is totally shouting at me to expedite my lifestyle changes. Given that Jill Bolte Taylor had a massive stroke at age 37, anything making me feel like I have been lately makes me scared shitless. I don’t want to be on medication and I definitely don’t want to die.
So instead of eating food, I will be feasting on food with my eyes. I just found a new local blog called Cakespy. Seriously, my heart just leapt with joy when politics and cake (my two favorite things) were mingling in one post. Cakespy also has an Etsy shop which sells Jessie Oleson’s adorable illustrations, cards and gifts. I am especially fond of this.

One of the things I love to do is take photos of food. I think it’s an Asian thing — or, at the very least, Indonesian (my wedding video has, like, 30 minutes of buffet footage). My problem with food porn is that it makes me so hungry! Cakespy is pure evil. Have you ever read Bakerella (http://bakerella.blogspot.com/)? Drool.

@Avitania – Dood, Asians love food. When my brother got married, 400 Koreans and Chinese descended on the wedding banquet like nobody’s business. Some didn’t even go to the ceremony, they were just there for the food. lol
