Are You Kidding Me?

Dear Mother Nature,

It’s around 10:00 p.m. and it’s been snowing for at least 3 hours now. I would normally be reveling in how beautiful a blanket of white snow makes my “up & coming” neighborhood, but tonight I am a bit terrified that it will keep snowing despite what he says about it stopping “roughly” around 10 pm or so.

You see, I really love my teen-aged daughter but we have just spent the last 2 1/2 weeks together because of Snowmaggedon. This means that our threshold for being around each other is very, very, very low. In addition, since she mysteriously broke her Macbook, she has proceeded to interrupt me every 30 minutes just so she can check her Myspace and Facebook pages.  I can’t get any work done. I want to hide in my room.

So tonight, I am pleading with you to make it start raining and wash away all this snow business.

Most Sincerely,

Bacon Is Your Best Friend

  2. I know it’s no consolation-but it sure is pretty…Me? I’m sick and tired of it being 80 degrees (I know, I know, the grass is always greener blah blah blah).

  3. Ohhhhhhh, how I’m with you. Love my kids but 2.5 weeks of being together 24/7 is a bit too much. I need a vacation. Alone. last night it snowed here too (the Esatside) and I was terrified to think school will be closed AGAIN. But… we’re back to normal. Thank God.

In the interest of full disclosure, please note that product links redirecting you to other sites such as Amazon, BlueHost, Freshbooks and OpenSky may take you a purchase page of a company where I am a member of an affiliate program. As a result, I will often get a small percentage of the revenue or a commission off of something you have purchased. I am not otherwise paid to link to these sites, nor do I link to any products that I don't actually use or covet in real life. On the rare occasion I accept payment to review a product, it will be duly noted in its associated post.

Have no fear - you are under no obligation to buy anything to get the full enjoyment of this site. We can still be friends even if you never click on an affiliate link. Rest assured, this is all low pressure. I will never show up at your door with tiny vials of Avon perfume or trial jars of pearl cream to entice you. That said, I do truly appreciate when you do purchase something from a linked site - it all helps to keep the lights on and a roof over our heads.
