Child, Why Must You Forsake Me?

My lovely daughter has been blessed with superior genes. She is one of those people that can eat and eat and eat some more and it never really shows. Just yesterday she and two girlfriends went to the YMCA to take an aerobics class called Zamba. She loved it and wants to go again, but is really worried. She is concerned that the exercise will make her butt smaller. Yes, you heard me. She is concerned about HER BUTT GETTING SMALLER.

I have never had this concern. Ever.

Clearly, I’ve raised a child with healthy self-esteem.

Okay, on with the dog and pony show. This was another 1 pound week. I was in a rush to take pictures and the result is somewhat akin to a mug shot. As you can see, I really don’t care much about getting my photograph taken anymore. It is what it is.

I can totally believe I’ve lost 5 lbs total so far. I’ve worked my butt off for it. My body measurements stayed essentially the same which I will chock up to being my very unscientific placement of measuring tape from week to week.

This week I am hoping for a 2 lb loss. I am really being strict about watching my calories now that I know that elliptical trainer has been lying to me all these weeks. For instance, this morning the elliptical trainer said I burned 600ish calories, the GoWearFit said 400. This basically means that trainer said that I was burning 1200 more calories a week than the reality. How lame is that?

Oh yeah, for those who are interested – the GoWearFit can be found here. It’s kind of expensive, but no more so than Weight Watchers, I suspect. For a tech enthusiast like me, it’s really useful. Sadly, I am starting to refer to an electronic gadget for positive feedback. But it works.

Your elliptical trainer is a beeotch for lying to you.

You’ll be happy to know that my class talked about the “fisting” comment for ten minutes this morning. :)

  5. Clearly your daughter needs to learn the quote -

“A woman can never be too rich or too thing”

    - of course one can be too thin, but I’ve never been in any danger of that.

  6. Two things…

First off, again I can completely relate to this post because when I seem to always be trying to shed a few pounds, my bf is trying to gain a few. Life is so unfair.

Secondly, you look much, MUCH better at 185 lbs than I did! Congrats on the weight lost, but seriously, I would not have guessed you are at 185 here xx

  7. Giyen – You are doing so well, and looking so good.
