High Fives: 01/31/09
I’m struggling to find some high fives this week. Every morning I have been woken up to my alarm clock blaring NPR news stories like … RECORD UNEMPLOYMENT! BIGGEST DROP IN GDP! WE’RE ALL GOING TO HELL IN A HANDBASKET! And don’t even get me started on the whole Wall Street Executive bonus payout story. Why can’t they throw in a little happy happy now and again? Perhaps more cute puppy stories?
On with the Fives:
- I just found a new Twitter-er? Twitter-i? Twitter-ite? to follow. I know, maybe it’s a bit depressing to look at, but I love the Internet. Or more appropriate, I love the people on the internet. Always wanting to inform.
- Whatever your opinion is on the Iraq war, I think it’s always moving to hear someone say: “I just voted and I’m very happy.” I know that feeling and I’m proud that our troops had something to do with it. Sure the reasons for going to war was a big farce, but even positive things can happen in the middle of mistakes.
- “I believe life is good.” Listen to the audio. It’ll make your heart melt.
- I am officially answering the call to service and volunteering for this place. I am redoing the website and sitting on the marketing committee. Sadly, the teal has to stay.
