Overcoming The Odds

Sadly, as much as I want to write on the weekends, I have to pry myself from the keyboard and go do things in real life.

Here’s a vblog that I found this week called Crossroads.

Bad news:

97% of people who make New Year’s resolutions don’t complete them.

Good news:

Sunny gives you 5 tips on how you can keep your New Year’s Goals.

Crossroads: Overcoming the Odds from Sunny Gault on Vimeo.

And in case you were wondering, here are a FEW blogs that I read on a daily basis. I have about a 100 blogs in my Google Reader but here are some that just keep stringing me along so that I get all wrapped up in their lives like I know them in real life or something.

And of course, there’s my blogging buddy John who likes food porn as much as I do.

Reading blogs totally makes me feel like a stalker. But that means you’re a stalker too.

Check back on Monday. It’ll be the dreaded weigh in day.

  1. I’m sure this is a dumb question, but what is food porn?

  2. @Shonda
That’s not a dumb question, it’s a foodie term about looking at beautiful pictures of food. I put a link to the word food porn so folks know what I am talking about. Thanks for pointing that out!

  5. I’m all for letting my eyes enjoy food while my mouth stays shut. I’m learning how to let my nose enjoy the smell of food without feeling compelled to inhale it through my mouth as well. I’ll be sure to check out your recommended reading list. Thanks for the great post.

  6. I’m a HUGE list person but I don’t like it b/c I’m always adding something after I’ve checked something else off. I’m like a hamster on a wheel here. Good for you for taking the weekend off. Once I get life, I’m going to do the exact same thing.

  7. I dig foodporn. Almost as much as I dig food network. Which runs a close race with how much I loved Ralph Macchio when I was a kid.

Oh, and Jason Bateman wasn’t bad either.

    Elisabeth´s last blog post..It’s On.

  8. Coming out of lurking to let you know that I’ve left you a little award over at my blog. Not that you need the publicity anymore, since you’ve become a CNN superstar. If you see Anderson Cooper, grope him for me ok? :)

  13. I’ve thouroughly enjoyed reading your site. I’m one of the many who found it on CNN. I love your photos too. You said you are having trouble meeting people at Starbucks because they are all on headsets in their own world, it’s the same here in New Jersey. But if you were at the coffee house I would love to chat with you too. Great photos as well! Thank you, C. Dylan

In the interest of full disclosure, please note that product links redirecting you to other sites such as Amazon, BlueHost, Freshbooks and OpenSky may take you a purchase page of a company where I am a member of an affiliate program. As a result, I will often get a small percentage of the revenue or a commission off of something you have purchased. I am not otherwise paid to link to these sites, nor do I link to any products that I don't actually use or covet in real life. On the rare occasion I accept payment to review a product, it will be duly noted in its associated post.

Have no fear - you are under no obligation to buy anything to get the full enjoyment of this site. We can still be friends even if you never click on an affiliate link. Rest assured, this is all low pressure. I will never show up at your door with tiny vials of Avon perfume or trial jars of pearl cream to entice you. That said, I do truly appreciate when you do purchase something from a linked site - it all helps to keep the lights on and a roof over our heads.
