In My Backyard …

Sometimes when I am stuck in my office my mind wanders and I dream about traveling to distant places like Thailand or Argentina or Italy. As I sit there doing something completely mundane, I lament over how I don’t ever go to new places and grumble over how hard it is to go on vacation when you are a single mom and don’t have any money (and your freaking bathroom leaks, thus taking the rest of your money that you don’t have).
But then there are times when my perspective gets put into the right place and I realize what I actually have around me. Just yesterday, Paige was sharing the photos of her recent backpacking trip to the Olympic Peninsula. I was in complete awe of how entirely beautiful our coastline is and was reminded about what is just outside my doorstep.
