The coast of Washington (and Oregon for that matter) is littered with side of the highway ramblers that sell chainsaw carvings. You’ll know these places right away because their lawn is jam packed with chainsaw carvings that represent our fair State – black bears, totem poles, Jesus, spotted owls, fisherman in raincoats, the occasional windmill and of course, our unofficial State animal – The Sasquatch.
While we driving down the coast last weekend, Paige saw the surfing Sasquatch and immediately yelled, “STOP THE CAR!” She and her friend made me pull over, get out of the car and take pictures of them like some ridiculous tourist. Oh the things that we do for our kids.
That is awesome. For the record, I probably would’ve made you stop the car, too.

Lets all be honest with ourselves here for a second, anyone who has EVER drive past that guy has gotten out to take the very same picture.
In an effort for full disclosure, it might turn out that I have one where I am mounting him from behind.
Maybe.

My Boy would have made us stop too. In fact, we have photos of him straddling memorial canons and mimicking statues around the world. Trust me, if he saw that carving, he would have been out there in a flash.

I swear we are raising the same kid! Rachel would have done the exact same thing…only now that she’s starting to drive and I’m starting to ride in the passenger seat *gulp* I would’ve simply had to sit there and endure the squealing bakes and uncontrollable swerve to the shoulder. At least you’re still in control…for a while.

Hilarious! I’d be amused and wanting to take a picture as well.
But could you have lived without that picture? I think not. It’s fantastic.
That is one cool sasquatch. My little guy is obsessed with the abominable snowman right now, but if he saw that he might find a new love.
